Importance of clinical validation of blood pressure monitors
On StrideBP clinically validated devices are listed. StrideBP is an international scientific non-profit organization of hypertension experts. All OMRON BP monitors are listed on this website as they’re all clinically validated for their accuracy.
They are validated for their accuracy and deliver more accurate blood pressure readings, which are particularly important for vulnerable patient groups. The validation is performed according to a standardized protocol developed by leading independent organizations. Want to learn more about validation? The RS7 Intelli IT. This wrist blood pressure monitor measures BP via the wrist. Measuring BP at the wrist should be considered in obese patients with a large arm circumference where a standard cuff size is not appropriate.
The M7 Intelli IT AFib, the X7 Smart AFib, the M6 Comfort AFib, the M4 Intelli IT and the M3 comfort.
Clinically Validated BP monitors offer a level of reliability and consistency needed to manage complex health conditions effectively. Pregnancy, obesity, and diabetes can have an impact on body composition, the arteries, and further cardiovascular system. These conditions could cause deviations in the way the BPM algorithm estimates the systolic and diastolic values. Clinically validated devices are tested under conditions that mirror real-life scenarios, ensuring accuracy even in special populations with unique physiological needs.
This allows patients to track their blood pressure daily and it is one effective strategy for early detection and managing hypertension. HBPM with clinically validated devices gives healthcare providers confidence in the accuracy of the readings, allowing for better-informed decisions on treatment initiation or adjustments. Patients and healthcare professionals can work together to manage hypertension more effectively based on reliable readings. Visit the OMRON Academy and take the course Home Blood Pressure Monitoring to learn more about this topic.
Examples of special populations are: obese individuals, pregnant women, and diabetic patients. Want to learn more about these specific patient groups? Visit OMRON Academy and take the courses Hypertension in Pregnancy and/or Hypertension and Comorbidities
Early detection and ongoing management of hypertension can significantly improve the health outcomes of these patients.
